Honest answer: participation is private, supply is transparent. Payments use shielded ZEC and we never track or link your wallet to an identity. But in today's model the token ledger lives on a transparent meta-protocol so supply is publicly verifiable. A fully shielded token ledger arrives with Zcash Shielded Assets (ZSA). We call this 'private participation, transparent supply' and won't pretend it's more.
